In a landmark verdict Wrexham Councillors last night rejected plans to drill a borehole for gas at Borras Road, Holt, Wrexham in a decision that could have national implications for the fracking industry.

Wrexham Council considered the Borras Road application at a full democratic committee and refused it. Other sites, like the one at Upton in Chester have been decided by a single planning officer who passed it. We shall be pushing for all planning decisions to be made by a council committee.
